The Lake Erie Landlord Association, LELA, (founded in 1988), is a non-profit, educational organization providing a means for exchanging landlording and real estate information. We strive to educate, inform, exchange ideas and improve the status, as well as the financial well being of all housing providers. Our members are known locally as landlords that work to improve the condition of housing for everyone. Monthly meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM. We meet in the Holiday Room on the second floor of the Holiday Inn in Elyria, Ohio.
The monthly meeting programs consist of speakers in areas of general interest to landlords, property managers and real estate investors. Some of the most recent speakers include the mayors of the two major cities in Lorain County, a real estate attorney, a CPA, the county director of Section 8 and the Lorain County prosecutor. Once or twice a year we hold an open forum, which is a moderated question and answer session with our experienced associates and always a member favorite. The legislative committee keeps the members informed of local issues, city council decisions, and ordinances that directly affect our businesses. LELA has become a recognized and active force in enacting beneficial legislation in our member's communities.
We provide an educational program that will help you keep abreast of changes in the investing arena, programs and contacts that will keep your ideas and methods fresh and help renew your excitement about real estate investing. You will find the support necessary to continue to increase your knowledge and skills, keep abreast of new developments, meet others with similar interests. You will also get the motivation necessary to keep on track for accomplishing your investment goals. A little investment of time will save you from costly mistakes you make along the way. |
